Who We Are

Dakota Knight Gillespie
Founder & CEO
Dakota Gillespie, founder and owner of Athletic Arts Academy LLC, brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the academy. Born and raised in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Dakota excelled in academics and athletics at Warren Central High School. As a state champion in football, he was a starter on the #1 6A football team in Indiana and ranked 30th in the nation. His track achievements include being a state qualifier and holding top 10 all-time records in the 110m and 300m hurdles. Dakota also led the speech and debate team to state championships as both an individual and team captain.
He continued his athletic journey at Indiana State University, where he played football until a shoulder injury redirected his path. Dakota's leadership extended beyond sports as the founder of the Diverse Leadership Association (DLA), reflecting his passion for fostering inclusive and dynamic leadership.
Currently serving as an Infantry officer in the Indiana Army National Guard, Dakota brings discipline, resilience, and a commitment to service into every endeavor. When he’s not at the academy, he enjoys spending quality time with his eight children and sharpening his strategic skills in chess.
Dakota’s mission with Athletic Arts Academy is to inspire and empower young athletes and artists to reach their full potential both on and off the field.
